The 2nd Congress of the Spanish Vegetarian Union will be held at the modern building Fòrum Nord de la Tecnologia, a municipal centre for multiple uses located in the Nou Barris district of the city of Barcelona. With a total extension of 10.000 m2, the Fòrum Nord de la Tecnologia is an outstanding building devised to hold a number of projects relating to enterprise initiatives and new technologies, especially dedicated to strengthen recently-created enterprises. It was inaugurated on April 1995, and was designed by the architects Josep Benedito and Agustí Mateos. It's a part of the services network Barcelona Activa.

The Fòrum Nord building also hosts the Cibernàrium, a public computer installation of 1.000 m2, it combines exhibitions, informative acts and a centre of permanent resources, an off-line navigator. It aims to bring new technologies nearer to enterprises, professionals, students and everybody interested in the business and professional opportunities offered by the society of knowledge. It was developed with the support of the Cité des Sciences et l’Industrie -La Villette- from Paris. The Fòrum Nord is surroundes by a wide garden area, the Central Park of Nou Barris. The Central Park of Nou Barris is Barcelona's second bigger in extension (more than 16 hectares), only after the Park of Ciutadella. It's a real green lung at the north of the city and one of the most original and sustainable spaces at Nou Barris, for its design and quality. In overall the Central park has more than 1500 trees of more than 30 different species (weeping willows, acacias, poplars, palms, oaks, laurels...) and numerous lawn beds. Two large lakes have been installed at both sides of Fabra i Puig avenue. One of them has several waterfalls allowing to walk beneath. The other lake means the recovery of one of the old aqueducts that carried water to the city in the 19 century. There are several ways for reaching the Fòrum Nord: Public Transport: Metro: yellow line (L4) Llucmajor station Bus: lines 11, 12, 31, 32, 47, 50, 51, 73, 76, 81, 82 Own vehicle: From Ronda de Dalt (coming from the airport or Zaragoza motorway): exit 3, Paseo de Valldaura down to Plaza Llucmajor. From there turn right for Paseo Verdum and first right for Lorena Street. When this one changes its name for Marie Curie, you'll find Fòrum Nord. From Meridiana: drive along Paseo de Valldaura up to Plaza Llucmajor. When in the Plaza, turn right for Paseo Verdum and first right for Lorena Street. When this one changes its name for Marie Curie, you'll find Fòrum Nord.

BARCELONA, the city Barcelona is the city of the latest tendencies in Spain, open and tolerant.
